✆☏⌨✉ Hey man, Sorry, you caught me at a bad time and I can't get to the phone. Leave a message and some way to get back to you. I'll call you back when I get a mo. Beep
Yeah, especially that part where I died. Always kind of figured you'd be there to tell me what a dumb ass I was for slipping up when it finally happened.
What shadow have you been hiding in all this time?
Lucky you. Seen any dragons down that way? I've been trying to assess the situation in Nothtown. Swear this place looks like Moose Tracks after everything went to shit.
Came for the graveyard, stuck around for the murder spree.
I've been staying at the Train Station with a fellow named Chris. Right now I'm a bit further out. Woods near the river. Thought I'd poke at the local wildlife for information, but they're not real big talkers.
[At least after years of hanging around with Ian, Simon no longer jumps when people sneak up behind him. Usually that's convenient.]
The wolves tried to rip my throat out. Had to take a dive in the river to wait them out and it wasn't fun. They got some nasty fish in these parts.
[The fact that the wolves wouldn't talk to Chance was enough of a discomfort alone. All wolves talked to him.]
As for the other characters, didn't have much luck until I cornered a rabbit. Not usually the fear tactics bad cop type, but from what I could get, he's new to this place. They all are. Not an animal in the woods older than a month or two and they're all mad. Some kind of sickness.
As much as I'd have loved to see you trying to avoid the fish... well no there's nothing to add there. I'm sad I missed it.
[But a time and place, after all.]
A sickness. Combined with the fact that you apparently died, and there's dragons roaming around. What exactly are we dealing with? Oh, and a murder spree.
Hey, this one isn't on me. I'm more than happy to take the credit for most of our misadventures, but I woke up in a cage in time to get a good view of my insides while some kind of freak dragon made a meal of them.
Next thing you know I'm climbing out of a six foot deep hole, covered in dirt and not anywhere we've ever been. Thought I was an after-lifer but I can still shift and there's no wound.
[He lifts his shirt up, poking at his own abs in disgruntled confusion.]
Swear if it was that god damn necro again, I'm gonna rip his throat out for thanks. I don't need another life in my head. Two is bad enough. Three is just plain cruel.
[He actually raises the eyepatch to get a better look, because what.]
And you're sure you weren't on an extremely, extremely bad trip? Because I've heard this one before. Hell, hasn't this happened to us at least once already?
[He lowers the patch, dragging his hand down his face as he does.]
Doubt it's him. From what little poking around I did, it doesn't seem like anybody we know.
Well, the dragon part is new. I should get points for creativity. Maybe my new friend can write a book about us.
The wolves down in Southtown. Anyone worth mention? They mooners?
[It was a reasonable question, considering the recent full moon.]
We're in this one deep, Ian. Any chance of you shadowing your way out of this place? The barrier gave me a nasty case of static shock when I tried to find a weak point. I think our charges aren't compatible.
[There was a joke in there about his positive charge and the negativity in this place, but for this particular time it remains unsaid.]
Been here five minutes and you've already buddied up to a writer?
They all are, by the looks of it. Left 'em alone when it became more than clear that they're all boring as shit. One of 'em's mute, the rest are all pretty standard.
[Watching two of them sit on a newly created wolf is not his idea of a good time.]
If I could, I'd be long gone. But you're lucky I can't, would've hated to leave you behind. I can't even see through the shadows past the barrier. I'd have better luck trying to get to the moon.
I might have mentioned taking out ghosts and zombies as a part of my Résumé over an open network. Everyone here was talking about monsters and shit so... you know. I was trying to appeal to their needs.

[Any actual discussion of the death can happen in person.]
The sprawling metropolis of Southtown. Can't get out, so I figured it better to stay hidden than draw any attention to myself.

Murder-- Right. Hang on. Where exactly are you? So I don't have to go looking through every single shadow in this damn place.

So what have they said?

[He rubs the back of his neck and clears his throat.]
I might've also through no real fault of my own, sparked the fury of an after-lifers support organisation.

What in the Hell did you do?
